Australia's young wicketkeeper Lachlan Shaw took a stunning catch as he dived forward in the 35th match of the Big Bash League between Adelaide Strikers and Sydney Sixers. However, he took this catch when he played in the deep and not as a wicketkeeper.
During the final overs of Adelaide Strikers' innings, left-arm seamer Ben Dwarshuis bowled a full delivery on the stumps from batsman Alex Ross. It was a length delivery that Ross tried to hit hard towards the short boundary at midwicket.
The ball went high in the air and continued to spin. Lachlan Shaw, playing at deep square, ran from the boundary and made a fantastic throw at the end to catch the ball cleanly with both hands.

It was an amazing catch from Lachlan Shaw and he couldn't believe he got to take the catch. Despite the ball moving noisily in the air, he kept his eye on the ball to make one of the best catches of the season.
It gave the Sixers a huge wicket late in the innings as Ross was dismissed for a brilliant 48 off 37 balls. It was also Shaw's first catch of the day and it turned out to be a magnificent one.
Ollie Pope and Alex Ross shine for the Adelaide Strikers
Earlier, Sydney Sixers won the toss and elected to bat first. Matthew Short was dismissed cheaply which gave Sydney Sixes a huge breakthrough. The Strikers were reduced to 35-3 as wicketkeeper Alex Carey was dismissed for a quickfire 18 off 13 balls.
But England Test vice-captain Ollie Pope batted superbly and produced a brilliant knock under pressure. He found a great partner in Alex Ross and both took their team to a comfortable position.
Pope was dismissed for 57 off 39 balls with 3 fours and 2 sixes. All-rounder Jamie Overton hit 32 off 14 balls at the end with 3 fours and 1 six to provide a perfect finish for his side who finished on 182-5. Jack Edwards and Todd Murphy took two wickets each for the Sixers.
Lachlan Shaw shines with the bat
In reply, Sydney Sixers lost Josh Philippe early, but Jack Edwards and Steve Smith steadied the ship with an important partnership. Edwards didn't contribute much but Smith looked in devastating form with the bat.
The veteran scored 52 off just 31 balls with 2 fours and 4 sixes. The innings looked to be going off track at 92-5 but Lachlan Shaw came to the rescue again. The youngster played a brilliant shot under pressure to bring the Sixers closer to a win.
Shaw was dismissed but Ben Dwarshuis played down the order. Hayden Kerr hung on until the end to lead the Sixers to a narrow victory with just one ball to spare. Lloyd Pope and Jamie Overton picked up two wickets each for the Strikers but it was not enough in the end.
