Ruben Amory says United's performance against Southampton will teach him more about his players after positive results against Liverpool and Arsenal.
The Red Devils ended their four-game losing streak with a 2-2 draw at Liverpool in the Premier League earlier this month and knocked out Arsenal on penalties in the FA Cup on Sunday.
United beat Manchester City in December, but Tottenham Hotspur, Newcastle Defeated Bournemouth and Wolves.
And Amorim says he's looking for improvement in less competitive play, where he hopes to dominate the ball rather than in the big games.
“This game will teach more from my players than the last two games,” the Portuguese coach said. So I'm really focused on tomorrow's game, So we will study more tomorrow.”
Asked why he had to study more, he said, “Because there was no hope for us in the last two games.
“No one believed that we would have a good performance or win the game, but now they expect us to win and play well, so I will learn more about this game.”

Asked if he was worried about facing Saints, he said: “I'm always worried that we don't have consistent performances or results in these games, so I'm always worried, it's my job to worry.
“We have to face Southampton in the same way that Liverpool and Arsenal faced. I understand they are different games.
“People expect us to win and that changes things. When there's pressure to win, that's the pressure we want, and sometimes it's hard to withstand that pressure, Arsenal. Compared to Liverpool, nobody expected us to beat those teams, but now it's different.
“We have to prepare for that pressure, we need pressure to improve as a team and face the game in the right way.”
Amorim doesn't feel the pressure.
Amorim replaced Erik ten Hag and has endured a rocky tenure so far, insisting he feels no pressure at Old Trafford despite currently sitting 14th in the Premier League.
He said: “Obviously you feel the pressure from the club but I don't feel the pressure at the moment.
“Last year we didn't win the league. In the past, if you didn't win the league one year, you would have to win it again. I don't feel that pressure.
“We have to put pressure on us because the fans out there are amazing. No pressure, I want to win. To feel that pressure in the future, we need to win, we need to win trophies, we need to win games.”
