Liverpool, who last won the competition in 2021/22, exited in the fourth round with 4-0 win over League Two side Accrington Stanley. Trent Alexander-Arnold played after a difficult week at right-back and Federico Chiesa scored his first goal for the club.
Chelsea produced a similarly high-scoring win over League Two opposition, beating Morecambe 5-0 at Stamford Bridge. Braces from Tosin Adarabioyo and Joao Felix secured an emphatic victory and the Blues will join Bournemouth, Leicester City, Brighton & Hove Albion and Nottingham Forest in the fourth round.
The biggest surprise of Saturday's FA Cup fixtures was Plymouth Argyle's 1-0 win against Brentford. Morgan Whittaker scored the winner in the Pilgrims' final before Miron Muslic took over from the recently sacked Wayne Rooney.
