Kyle Walker has reacted to his failure to feature in Manchester City's game against Brentford on Tuesday.
Club captain Walker left Manchester City after scoring two goals in a 2-2 draw against West London.
The 34-year-old also did not feature in last weekend's 8-0 FA Cup win over Salford. Manager Pep Guardiola revealed after the game that the England international wants to leave the club.
Guardiola said: “It's not easy for me to say, but because Kyle is not here, two days ago I asked him to look for options to play abroad at the end of his career.
“Two years ago, after the Treble, I asked when Bayern wanted him, but the offer was not enough.
Walker continues to pursue a move away from the Premier League side in west London, sparking rumors that he has opted out of Manchester City's Premier League side.
He wrote in 'City Chief' on the City fan account. X“Kyle Walker's behavior is completely unacceptable. Missing games as a club captain is shameful.
“If you want to leave, do it respectfully. This is not the way. Your lack of commitment is a major factor in this disappointing campaign.”
Walker took to social media to directly deny the claim, replying to the post: “Failed to open? “It's impossible for me to be at Brentford and training at the same time. You may need to check your sources.”

Walker looks almost certain to leave the club in January after a successful eight-year spell that saw them win six Premier League titles.
According to reports, the right-back is keen on a move to a top club that could help him prolong his England career and is reportedly interested in a move to Saudi Arabia.
He has 93 caps for England and looks set to reach 100, making him only the second black player after Ashley Cole.
The former Tottenham defender has made nine Premier League appearances for Manchester City this season, with his final game against Manchester United on December 15.
Walker is a regular at Euro 2024 and has started England's last three matches, but faces more competition at right-back from Trent Alexander-Arnold, who has impressed for his country of late.
The 2022 Treble winner looks keen to impress new Three Lions boss Thomas Tuchel with a fresh start elsewhere.
