Erling Haaland has signed a new contract with Manchester City until 2034.

Norway international Haaland will have another nine-and-a-half years of scoring goals in the Premier League after signing a new contract that will keep him at Manchester City until the summer of 2034.

Haaland has scored 79 goals in 83 league games for Manchester City since joining from Borussia Dortmund in 2022 and has been with the club until the age of 34.

He is behind Alan Shearer's historic record of 181 goals.

He said: “I am very happy to sign my new contract and look forward to spending more time at this great club.

“Manchester City is a special club, full of amazing supporters and fantastic fans, the type of environment that brings out the best in everyone.

“Pep Guardiola, Pep Guardiola because they have all helped me a lot in the last few years. His coaching staff; I want to thank my teammates and everyone at the club. They made this place such a special place and now I'm Manchester City anyway.

“I just want to keep improving, keep trying to get better and keep trying to do my best to keep going and have more success.”

Haaland has won the Golden Boot award in both of his two seasons in England so far, and is now 16 this season, two behind Liverpool's Mohamed Salah.

City's director of football, Txiki Begiristain, said: “The length of his contract shows his commitment as a player and his love for this club.

“He has made an incredible impact in his time here and his amazing stats and record speak for themselves.”

City sit sixth in the table and face Ipswich on Sunday.
