Manchester City have reached a verbal agreement with Eintracht Frankfurt to sign striker Omar Marmoush.
Marmoush, who can operate across the front three, has scored 15 goals in the Bundesliga so far this season, just one behind Bayern Munich attacker Harry Kane which is at the top of the list with 16.
The Egyptian international agreed in principle to a move to City last week, pending an agreement between the clubs.
Negotiations between the clubs have since intensified, with Eintracht demanding around £67.5m (€80m) to part with their prized asset.
Txiki Begiristan, City's outgoing sporting director, held fresh talks with Eintracht on Monday, with the two clubs inching closer to agreeing a price for Marmoush.

City's offer on Wednesday was believed to be slightly lower than Eintracht's initial demand, in the range of £59m (€70m) fixed, plus £4.2m to £8.4m (€5m to €10m) in add-ons. .
Begiristain now appears to have made a breakthrough – with City now set to bolster their attacking options after attempting to revitalize their defense by signing Palm trees prospect Victor Reis and Lens' Abdukodir Khusanov.
