Tyreek Hill's agent gives big update after $90,000,000 WR trade buzz

Drew Rosenhaus, agent for Miami Dolphins star Tyreek Hill has shot down trade speculation surrounding his client. The announcement comes just days after Hill's controversial performance in the season-ending loss to the New York Jets.

Hill, an eight-time Pro Bowl wide receiver, sparked trade rumors after he sat out Sunday's game. His moves came after a frustrating season in which he posted career-low numbers with just 81 catches for 959 yards.

Speaking on The Pat McAfee Show on January 9, 2025, Rosenhaus revealed previously unknown details about Hill's commitment to the Dolphins;

“Tyreek Hill broke his wrist in a scrimmage against the Chiefs in Training Camp. He wasn't going to miss the season and wanted to play. He's committed to the Miami Dolphins and had a great meeting with Chris Grier and Mike McDaniel.” Rosenhaus said.

Rosenhaus spoke Hill's emotional outburst “I'm out, bro. It was great to play here, but at the end of the day, I've got to do what's best for my career,” the receiver said after Sunday's game.

“Tyreek Hill was emotional after the game and the Dolphins know he's a great competitor. We have thirteen guys on this team and none of them have any complaints about Tyreek,” Rosenhaus said.

Dolphins GM Chris Grier confirmed that Hill did not request a trade. Head coach Mike McDaniel met with Hill for an hour to address his exit;

“I spoke to him very directly … that leaving the game was unacceptable and would not be tolerated in the future, and he accepted responsibility,” McDaniel said.

The situation reflects mounting pressure on Hill, who signed a three-year, $90 million extension before the 2024 season. His contract includes $59 million in guaranteed money and has significant salary cap implications — $28.7 million in 2025 and $51.9 million in 2026.

Adding context to Hill's struggles, quarterback Tagovailoa has seen limited action due to a concussion and hip injuries. That left the receiver to work with the backup guards Tyler Huntley and Skylar Thompson for most of the season.
