Real Betis are close to agreeing a deal to sign Manchester United winger Antony loan for the remainder of the season, reports have revealed.
The Spanish side have identified Anton as their main target for the winter window and, after seeing an initial approach rejected, came back with a second offer earlier this week which was reported to be closer to satisfying United.
According to Fabrizio RomanoTalks are now at an advanced stage, with Antony expected to spend the remainder of the season on loan at Betis. The Brazilian is thought to be keen to rebuild his career in La Liga and has prioritized interest from Betis over competition from the Greek team Olympiacos.
united will agree to cover a portion of Antony's wages in a deal which will not include an option to make the move permanent at the end of the season.
Betis sporting director Manu Fajardo was asked about the club's pursuit of Antony on Saturday and, while he refused to go into detail, he did not shy away from confirming his desire to strike a deal over the line.
“A very attractive player in this market”, said Fajardo Movistar+. “I have little to say about his career. Antony is still a Manchester United player.”
