Two Premier League hosts meet at Goodison Park on Sunday afternoon as Tottenham Hotspur travel to Everton.
These historic clubs have been embarrassed in modern times, and perhaps both clubs see a bit of themselves in the other. The pair of naturally pessimistic fans have been subject to dismal 2024/25 campaigns so far, although many would argue that Everton are performing in line with pre-season expectations.
Sean Dyche left the Toffees 16th in the table and barely above the drop zone. David Moyes has since been drafted in as his successor, but the returning Scot oversaw a 1-0 defeat to Aston Villa in midweek.
Spurs' barren run in the Premier League continued on Wednesday as Arsenal beat the North London Derby 2-1 at the Emirates. Sunday's visitors remain depleted, but Ange Postecoglou simply needs to oversee an uptick in results soon.
They remain in all cup competitions – Postecoglou's saving grace – but Spurs' return to five points from a possible 29 in their previous nine league outings can only be described as relegation.
Here it is 90 minutes guide for sunday Premier League collision.

Everton Dwight McNeil and James Garner will soon be available again, but the pair will miss Sunday with respective knee and back injuries.
Seamus Coleman has also suffered from muscle problems and is in doubt for Tottenham's visit, while strikers Youssef Chermiti and Armando Broja are out. Dominic Calvert-Lewin is likely to remain in charge despite his lackluster performance in midweek. Moyes has Beto as an alternative.
Nathan Patterson could come in for Ashley Young at right-back, with Jesper Lindstrom also pushing for a start in attack.
Everton predicted formation against Tottenham (4-2-3-1): Pickford; Patterson, Tarkowski, Branthwaite, Mykolenko; Gueye, Mangala; Lindstrom, Doucoure, Ndiaye; Calvert-Lewin.
Richarlison came off the bench in the derby after several months out with a thigh injury. Son Heung-min scored on Wednesday but has underperformed this season, and we could soon see the Brazilian emerge as a genuine option on the left for Postecoglou.
Ben Davies could return to the matchday squad on Sunday, but Spurs will likely have to stick with the same makeshift defense at Goodison Park. Brennan Johnson is a sudden doubt with a further calf injury.
Wilson Odobert, William Vicar, Christian Romero, Micky van de Ven, Rodrigo Bentancur and Timo Werner are all injured.
Tottenham predicted formation against Everton (4-3-3): Kinsky; Porro, Dragusin, Gray, Spence; Bissouma, Bergvall, Maddison; Kulusevski, Solanke, Son.
Can both teams lose?
Moyes' Everton won't be too dissimilar to Dyche's iteration, and they will remain a tough team to beat, especially at Goodison. The Toffees would have taken a point on Wednesday had Calvert-Lewin returned to his early 2020/21 self rather than the version he has appeared since.
Spurs should enjoy control and territory here, but they have hardly proven themselves to be adept pick-and-lock against compact defences. Their problems from set-pieces have not been as evident compared to last season, but the hosts will undoubtedly aim to dominate from such situations on Sunday.
All results are on the table here, but the visitors can walk away with the three points they desperately need.
