Now, as the stadium completed 50 years, fans remembered the past Sachin Tendulkar-the greatest hitter in the history of the game.
'Sachin.. Sachin' chants takeover Wankhede Stadium
Without a doubt, Sachin has been one of the greatest players of all time in world cricket. His batting record and presence on the field was legendary in its own right. Fans love the former Indian cricketer and many are promoting him as God of Cricket. The most memorable moments whenever Sachin was on the field came when the crowd chanted his name, giving him whole-hearted support.
Something similar happened almost 13 years after he retired from all forms of cricket. During the golden jubilee at the Wankhede Stadium, the crowd broke into song “Sachin.. Sachin” in a famous way soon after the famous cricketer.
Sachin arrived at the Golden Jubilee celebrations at the Wankhede Stadium, which apart from witnessing several events in Indian cricket, is also home to the players. Mumbai Indians– the former IPL franchise in which Sachin played from 2008 to 2013.
Sachin was linked with the former Indian cricketer Ravi Shastrilegend beat Sunil Gavaskarthe Indian captain Rohit Sharma and many other home grown players.

Wankhade Stadium turns 50: A look back at the origins of the iconic venue
The Wankhede Stadium, located in Mumbai, is one of the most famous venues in Indian cricket. Its history began in the 1970s, from the conflict between a Cricket Club of India (CCI) and Bombay Cricket Association (BCA). The BCA built a 45,000 capacity stadium, located one kilometer from the Brabourne CCI Stadium, which had hosted 17 practice matches up to that time. Wankhede's first Test in the 1974-75 season saw the West Indies dominate India.
The stadium's first taste of success in India came in 1976, against new Zealandand over the years, it has been a place of many memorable moments and historical events. Gavaskar's 205 against West Indies is Alvin KallicharanHis 187 strikeouts in the 1978-79 series tied his record, as well Ian BothamA successful performance in the 1980 Jubilee Test, which England won. Vinod Kambli he holds the record for the most runs by an Indian at Wankhede, with 224 runs against England in 1992-93.
