England playing XI for first T20I vs India announced, Jofra Archer, Mark Wood feature


England national cricket team announced their playing XI for the first T20I of the five-match series against the Indian national cricket team. England white-ball captain Jos Buttler will play as a specialist batsman in the upcoming series and Harry Brook has been named vice-captain of the national team.

The five-match T20I series between England and India will begin on Wednesday, January 22 at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata. After the opening match in Kolkata, the remaining matches will be played in Chennai, Rajkot, Pune and Mumbai. After the T20I series, England will also play three ODI matches against India.

England have announced their playing XI for the first T20I against India in Kolkata. Jamie Smith, Brydon Carse, Saqib Mahmood and Rehan Ahmed are not included in the squad for this match. England head coach Brendon McCullum said all players will get a chance to play at some point during the series.

Playing XI: Phil Salt (wk), Ben Duckett, Jos Buttler (c), Harry Brook (vc), Liam Livingstone, Jacob Bethell, Jamie Overton, Gus Atkinson, Jofra Archer, Adil Rashid, Mark Wood.
