During Coldplay's performance at Mahalaxmi Race Course in Mumbai, as part of their “Music Of The Spheres World Tour,” Martin took time to recognize local sporting heroes, including Bumrah. The team's performance highlighted Bumrah's international popularity and status as one of India's most popular cricketers.
At the concert, Martin not only praised Bumrah but also played his famous English play. Ollie Pope for the 2024 Test series, which had the fans very excited. The tribute was part of Coldplay's five ongoing concerts in India from January 18 to 26.
Earlier at their inaugural show in Navi Mumbai's DY Patil Stadium, Martin joked that Bumrah was behind and asked to take a 15-minute break from the concert to bring him a few things. However, the next day, Martin admitted it was a joke and later called Bumrah “No. 1 in the world” when he showed a video of Bumrah removing the Pope.
