The final eliminator of Martin Bakole, who will win the right to fight for the world heavyweight title of Daniel Dubois, is scheduled for May.
Bakole will box Efe Ajagba in the USA to become the mandatory challenger for the IBF heavyweight title.
The Congolese prospect previously boxed in Los Angeles when he stopped highly touted prospect Jared Anderson.
“Don't stand with Martin Bakole. I'm a big man and I'm a machine,” he declared after that victory. “No one wants to fight me.
“I'm a machine. I'm in this sport to take over. I want to be number 1.”
Ejagba has lost just once in his professional career and was on a five-fight winning streak since losing to Franco Sanchez in 2021. Recently, Ejagba defeated Guido Vianella, an Italian Olympian.
Bakole has been highly ranked for a long time and is trying to challenge for Dubois' title. The IBF ordered Ajagba, as the next available ranked contender, to box Bakole in that final eliminator.
Dubois, who knocked out Anthony Joshua in stunning fashion last year, next defends his belt on February 22, live Sky Sports Box Officewhen he goes up against a good opponent Joseph Parker.
Bakole vs. Ejagba is slated for the May card in America organized by boxing powerbroker Turki Alalshikh.
He also intends to bring back Ryan Garcia and Devin Hani in separate matches.
Garcia's bout against Haney last year was a no-contest after he tested positive for performance-enhancing drugs.
The New York State Athletic Commission banned Garcia for a year, but he will be able to box again until May.
He is slated to take on Rolando Romero, while Devin Haney, who has not boxed since his punishing fight with Garcia last April, is slated to fight former world champion Jose Ramirez on that Mayo card.
