Rohit Sharma's fan base forces MCA to expand seats for Mumbai vs J&K Ranji Trophy clash at BKC


The Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) is all set to increase the seating arrangements at the BKC Stadium for the 2024-25 Ranji Trophy match between Mumbai and Jammu & Kashmir. The match between the two teams will be played from Wednesday (January 23) and Indian stars including Rohit Sharma will be present in the game.

The Mumbai team will also be packed with Indian stars in Yashasvi Jaiswal and Shreyas Iyer. Along with him, Ajinkya Rahane will be there, along with other exciting players, to play in the match against Jammu & Kashmir in the second round of the Ranji Trophy.

With big names in action, the Mumbai Cricket Association expects fans to turn up in large numbers to catch a glimpse of their favorite players. Currently, the stadium has seating for 100 spectators and the Association is likely to increase it to 500 seats for the upcoming match.

A source close to the Mumbai Cricket Association confirmed the development, saying fans will have to show their identity cards at the entry point. He also mentioned that there will be security arrangements at BKC. Speaking to the Times of India, he explained:

“Normally at BKC there is seating arranged for 100 spectators, but we will have around 500 seats for fans near the ground cars there. Fans will need to show their I-cards at the entry point. Given the presence of the star Indian, there will be adequate security arrangements at BKC as well.”
