India U19 Women's National Cricket Team player Vaishnavi Sharma made history in the U19 Women's World Cup match against Malaysia U19 Women's National Cricket Team. The match between the two teams took place on Tuesday (Jan 21) at the Bayuemas Oval in Kuala Lumpur.
Vaishnavi produced a magical effort with the ball and helped his team bundle out their opposition for a low total. She was all over Malaysia as she wreaked havoc and took a hat trick, becoming the first Indian player in the history of the tournament to achieve the feat.
Vaishnavi, who made her debut for the team, ensured that she set fire with the ball in the primary outing. She started her spell with the wickets of Nur Dania Syuhada and Nuriman Hiyadah and after that she did not look back as she removed Nur Ain Binti Roslan, Nur Isma Dania and Siti Nazwah to claim a hat-trick.

Vaishnavi Sharma continued to pick the bowler and returned with figures of 4-1-5-5 against Malaysia. With her hat-trick, she joined South Africa's Madison Landsman in the list of bowlers with a hat-trick in U19 Women's World Cup history.
South Africa's Madison Landsman holds the record of being the first bowler in the U19 Women's T20 World Cup to take a hat-trick. She achieved the feat in the group stage match against Scotland and finished with figures of 4/12 in 2023.
Along with Vaishnavi Sharma, Aayushi Shukla was also among the wickets. She picked figures of 3.3-1-8-3 and based on the stunning effort with the ball, India U19 women's national cricket team bundled out the opposition for just 31 runs in 15 overs.
Pursuing the target, they came out all guns blazing. Opener Gongadi Trisha scored an unbeaten 27 off 12 balls while G Kamalini was run out for 4. With the win, India U19 Women's National Cricket Team topped the table in Group A with four points and a net run rate of of +9.148. .

Talking about her performance, Vaishnavi Sharma said that it was a dream debut for her. She also revealed that Radha Yadav and Ravindra Jadeja are her idols. Speaking after the match, she said:
