Jason Roy involved in horrific mid-field collision with Harmeet Singh in ILT20 2025

Sharjah Warriorz batsman Jason Roy had a decent outing with the bat for his team in the match against Desert Vipers in the ILT20 2025. The match between the two teams took place on Wednesday (January 22) at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium in Dubai.

Jason Roy was the lone warrior for his team in the game against the Desert Vipers. The England national cricket team batsman came in as a super sub for his side when the wickets were left reeling at the other end. He made sure he put in a decent effort and gave his team something to fight for with the ball.

During his innings, Jason Roy also had a nasty collision with his batting partner Harmeet Singh. It was during the 13th over when on the fourth ball, the England batsman played the back of a length outside ball by Dan Lawrence to point. He quickly took the first race, wanting to take the second.

However, during the second round, he had a nasty collision with Harmeet Singh as both the batsmen met. Both Jason Roy and Singh got up quickly to get back to the crease and then checked themselves.

Coming into the match, Desert Vipers continued their golden form with the bat and ball in the ILT20. Sharjah Warriorz had a dreadful outing with the bat. They continued to lose wickets at regular intervals and were left reeling at 30 for five. That's when super-sub Jason Roy (30*) played a fighting hand for the team despite wickets falling at the other end.

Jason Roy's battling innings with the bat saw Sharjah Warriorz past 85 runs as they managed just 19 runs. For Desert Vipers, Mohammad Amir was the pick of the bowlers as he took a four-wicket haul.

Chasing the target, Desert Vipers came up with a stunning effort. Fakhar Zaman (71*) hit a magical half-century and along with Alex Hales (23*) added 95 runs together to take his team home. With this win, they all but sealed their spot in the playoffs.

T20 cricket can be one sided at times and hopefully we will correct that in a few days – Tim Southee

Sharjah Warriorz skipper Tim Southee spoke about the loss, admitting it was not their best effort. But he hoped they would turn things around in the next game. Speaking after the match, he explained:

“I always miss, when you're six years into your 30s, it's always tough, but the beauty of this competition is we get a couple of days off, dust ourselves off and meet these guys again. T20 cricket can be one-sided. times and we hope to correct it in a few days.

“When you've got 90 on the board you've got to get early wickets but a few dangerous batsmen and you're as good as ever after that.”
