Harry Maguire feels Manchester United's problems have nothing to do with tactics, claiming the players are “lacking mental focus”.
United manager Ruben Amory labeled his side's “probably the worst in the club's history” after last weekend's defeat to Brighton.
The Portuguese made it clear today that he was referring to his own efforts since replacing Erik ten Hag in November.Rather than criticize the players, experienced defender Maguire insisted they should share the blame.

United have lost each of their last five league games, conceding the opening goal three times within five minutes.
Ahead of tomorrow night's Europa League clash with Rangers at Old Trafford, Maguire said: “If I could explain it, I would change immediately.
“We have players who have won many trophies at the club but we are not playing well as a team.
“We gave Brighton a goal. We talked about it before the game. The first goal against Nottingham Forest was against Bournemouth.
“These are not tactical issues. You have to be mentally ready to win a match. At the moment, I'm not mentally focused so I can't get the small margins.”
Rangers will be a tough test – Maguire
A win against Rangers would secure United a place in the knockout stages, but Maguire is not expecting an easy night against the men north of the border.
He said, “We expect a tough game. We know they're going to come here and give it everything they've got and support.
“They are very competitive and expect a tough game, but after a difficult defeat at the weekend we will be sure to focus on ourselves and perform.
“We will play with confidence so that we can perform and get the three points.”
