Man Utd land Alejandro Garnacho asking price ahead of fresh talks with Chelsea


Manchester United have reportedly lowered their asking price for winger Alejandro Garnacho as Napoli and Chelsea continue to compete for his signature.

Clubs have been alerted to Garnacho's possible availability this month amid concerns from United over their ability to stay within the Premier League's financial rules. Napoli have launched a bid for the Argentine as they look to replace Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, but Chelsea are considering a rival approach.

Reports have previously valued Garnacho at around £60m – a figure he has so far proved too high for Napoli – but now it is claimed that united have lowered their demands.

Gianluca Di Marzio The United States is now seeking a total package worth €65m (£54.9m), while Telegraph put United's new asking price at somewhere closer to £50m.

Napoli are looking to do a deal for no more than €55m (£46.4m) but United's compromise has given the Serie A side hope that an agreement will be reached somewhere in between the two sides' demands.

How much for ChelseaThe Blues are expected to hold a fresh round of talks over Garnacho, with their scouting checks on the winger also including reports on his attitude amid concerns about his suitability in Enzo Maresca's squad.

Fabrizio Romano adds that Chelsea has made contact with representatives of United and Garnacho, who were present at Stamford Bridge for the 3-1 win over Wolvesand they must now decide whether to join Napoli in submitting a formal bid.
