Man Utd predicted line-up against Rangers

The cool demeanor once displayed by Ruben Amorim is starting to fade in Manchester, with the brilliant Portuguese boss already showing signs of wear and tear amid the size of the job at his disposal.

Labeling his team as “probably the worst” in Manchester United's history shows that frustration and pressure is mounting, and although Amorim tried to provide clarity ahead of Rangers' visit, such mistakes are sure to be pounced upon.

After falling to one 3-1 defeat to Brighton & Hove Albion On Sunday, the Red Devils will aim to bounce back by securing victory over the Gers, which would leave them in a very strong position in the league stage table going into the final game. United are currently in the top eight, but Rangers are at the bottom.

Here's how united could line up at Old Trafford.

GK: Andre Onana – After committing another mistake that led to a goal at the weekend, Amorim could take the easy option and return to Altay Bayindir after his FA Cup heroics. But this is an important game and Onana needs to get the support of his boss.

CB: Leny Yoro – Yoro should return to his favorite side with Amorim determined to make a change to his defense from Sunday.

CB: Harry Maguire – With Jonny Evans sidelined and Victor Lindelof not yet ready to return, Maguire should sit nicely at the heart of the back three.

CB: Lisandro Martinez – The Argentine was an unused substitute against Brightonbut turning it to the side allows Yoro to shift to his natural right side.

RWB: Diogo Dalot – Dalot has played a lot of football this season – a lot in the eyes of many supporters. He seems to be unacceptable in the eyes of Amorim, so another start seems likely here.

CM: Manuel Ugarte – Another of the manager's trusted lieutenants, Ugarte will duel Rangers' pesky ball-winner Nico Raskin at Old Trafford.

CM: Christian Eriksen – There should be some rotation in the middle of the park after Brighton's success at the weekend. Kobbie Mainoo could leave in favor of Eriksen, who has produced some big moments in the league stage so far.

LWB: Tyrell Malacia – The Dutch defender has featured sporadically since returning from a long-term knee injury. With Noussair Mazraoui gaining a breather, Malacia could make a rare start.

AM: Amad Diallo – Amad was saving United's ham against the worst team in the world Premier League exactly a week before kick-off on Thursday, but there was no heroics from the Ivorian hospital at the weekend. He has been the star of the Amorim era up to this point.

AM: Bruno Fernandes – Fernandes hasn't been too bad either, and much of his best work, like United's under the Portuguese manager, has been saved for the biggest occasions. He is yet to score in the league stage, but he scored from the penalty spot on Sunday.

ST: Rasmus Hojlund – After being benched at the weekend, Hojlund is expected to lead the line for United given his impressive record in the Europa League. The young Dane is far from them top scorer bagging five in six.
