Sanjay Manjrekar highlights the importance of the 2025 IND vs ENG T20I series
Former India cricketer Sanjay Manjrekar has emphasized the importance of the T20I series against England. He said the series is crucial for head coach Gautam Gambhir, especially after India's recent losses in back-to-back Test series against New Zealand and Australia as well as the ODI series in Sri Lanka.
“Hopefully he (Gautam Gambhir) can feel a bit settled and the pressure is off. He will have a new group of young players which is probably an easier challenge for him than what he had in Australia. So winning these matches is important,” Manjrekar told ESPNcricinfo.
“It will make him feel part of that team, but what happens in the Champions Trophy and the England tour could spoil all the good work he could have done before that. So those are the two tournaments,” Manjrekar. added.
