Mohamed Salah offers Liverpool new contract extension after Champions League breakthrough

Mohamed Salah has admitted again that he does not know if he will continue to be a Liverpool player next season.

Salah was on target in the Liverpool's 2-1 win over Lille on Tuesday, becoming the first Reds player to reach 50 goals in European competition – nine more than second-placed Steven Gerrard.

Asked if he will stay with Liverpool beyond this season to try to add to his tally, Salah confessed Amazon Prime that he still has no idea if he will sign a new contract to stay at Anfield.

“I'm not sure about that, but I'll give it my best,” he admitted.

He, however, hinted at a desire to stay as he vowed to try and keep climbing the club's goalscoring charts.

“I hope not the last (goal) but I'm very proud of it,” said Salah about reaching 50 goals. “I wasn't focused on it before the game. (Lille) have a really good game plan and they were unbeaten for 21 games, so they are a pretty tough team. I'm happy we managed to win that game. “

Salah, who is now ninth in the Champions League's all-time goalscoring list with 51, has put a lot of public pressure on Liverpool to meet his demands in talks over a new contract. Such an offer has not yet arrived, however, and the giants of Saudi Arabia Al Hilal are now said to be ready to push for Salah's signature this summer.
