Naoya Inoue should not ask twice.
With his opponent who invited him to enter, Inoue stepped out the devastating right passen and knocked Ye Joon Kim on the canvas to defend his inviolable World Championship in four rounds.
Kim hoped she would realize an amazing dream. Korean used the opportunity against Inoua – one of, if not the best in sports – when he entered to replace Goodman itself.
Goodman and I had two chances in this fight, but the interruption in the sparring that was reopened before this moved date finally turned it off completely.
Kim was on standby and so instead of undercard match became part of the main event. But he was still facing probably the hardest task in the world box, trying to beat Naoya Inoue, and within just two weeks in advance.
Inoue is an undisputed world champion in two categories, which now holds all four main titles in the superbant category.
He came up to 122 lbs in 2023. And he won every match that had at that long distance weight. The Japanese star went through Stephen Fulton and Marlon Tapales to unite World Titles per WBA, WBC, WBO and IBF.
He recently forced TJ Doheny to withdraw from their match, and also finished the exciting defense of the Championship against Luis Nery last year.
Nery scored a stunning Nokdown against Inou in their first round. But inoue gave up on that and delighted Nery another huge finish.
This latest defense was another proof of his devastating abilities.
The story of the fight
Kim came out like a southern paw, moving to the center of Ring on the opening bell. Inoue waited for him, holding the lead highly raised to hamper his challenger's right, and stayed patient, before he hit the right in Kimovo trunk.
Kim had to withdraw, to keep out of range of these direct blows.
In another round inoue returned to Kim hard right. He started marking Kim. Inoue broke with Kim with a combination left-right. Kim tried to bend over his left, but it was too slow and inoue walked away from it.
Although Inoue reached the four, the champ was tempored to his right to catch Kim purely.
Kim hit his cross in Inou's body and he jumped in combination, wanting to increase the impact effect.
But Inou's power soon caused the island under Kim's eye and the champion punished him with firm shocks.
He broke through the Krsna ball. Leva, so right hit Kimovo body, strokes who must have kicked the wind out of it. Kim had to return pedals.
The right in the inoua remained sharp in the fourth round. He pointed to Kim in the corner, and the challenger was hardly pushed to escape.
The counter struck in Kim, and Levi Hok in Kimovo body fell with sound power.
Kim was reduced to show his firmness, inviting inoue to enter – but it just caused trouble. Kim was injured due to the left strike, but the lightning sting placed a huge right right side. That hit with full force, landing in a plane, he was a final blow.
What's next
Inoue explained why he did not hurried with the beginning of the fight. “All in all, I think it was a good match, but I didn't have enough time to study my opponent so I just separated some time to see what he was coming from him,” he said.
Inoue's next stop will be a competition in America, probably in April with Alan David Picas as a potential opponent.
“Another great performance of our champion here,” Bob Arum promoter said. “The Great Land Japan will give this spring to the Great Inoua city of Las Vegas for one fight.”
Inoue added: “I'm so happy to watch all the people around the world.
“Thank you all for watching my fight,” he continued. “I plan to fight in Las Vegas and Saudi Arabia this year.
“2025. It will be years to go to overseas countries to fight, and in the spring 2025. I'm going to Las Vegas to show you a great match.”
