The former LSU legend has an obvious request from coach Brian Kelly


After three seasons and no College Football Playoff appearances, the pressure is mounting on Brian Kelly LDU. Former Tigers legend and ESPN analyst Booger McFarland thinks it's time for Louisiana to get back into the national title conversation.

Speaking on “Andy and Ari On3,” McFarland opened up about what a College Football Playoff game would look like in Tiger Stadium.

“You know what? I don't want to imagine it. I want to see him. That's what I text with BK (Brian Kelly) all the time. I guess it's about time, you know. I don't want to imagine,” said McFarland.

“I tell every coach who comes to LSU the same thing. I'm loyal to the three letters, not you. So you're always going to get honesty from me because I'm committed to my program and I'm committed because I want to see those kids win and LSU be successful,” McFarland added.

Brian Kelly's departure from Notre Dame has been a controversial topic. However, the current LSU Tigers head coach had no problem telling CBS Sports that he would be rooting for the Fighting Irish in the National Championship Game.

“I'm happy for all these guys, I'm pulling for them,” Kelly told CBS Sports' Brandon Marcello. “I recruited a lot of guys there on both sides of the ball. Obviously, I want to see those guys win it all, and I think they're in great shape. I'm absolutely thrilled for these guys.”

Although Kelly and the Tigers haven't reached the CFP in three years, the Fighting Irish will play Ohio State for the national title on Monday night.
