Harris English held off Sam Stevens' final charge to claim his first PGA Tour title in 1,308 days with a one-shot victory at the Farmers Insurance Open.
The overnight leader recovered from two early bogeys to card a one-over 73 in strong winds on Torrey Pines' South Course, seeing him finish the week at eight under and a shot from Stevens.
The Englishman failed to get up and down the bunker to save par at the first and drop another shot at the par-four fifth, only to birdie the PAR-five next and finish with 12 consecutive pars.

The fifth PGA Tour title is his first in an eight-hole championship, and the win moves the American back into the top 50 and secures his invitation.
“I may have looked calm on the course, but inside your emotions were running wild,” the English language said. “I just know how hard it is to win. It's just fun. You've got to soak it up when you do.”
Stevens started the final day six shots, but charged into contact with four birdies in the front nine 32, and the American canceling bogeys in the par-five 13th picked him up in 17th place.
A final round 68 was the lowest of the day and set the opening Clubhouse target, with Stevens – completing several groups before the final pairing – saving par in the last despite finding water with his approach.
The Englishman held on for the win with a streak of two pars. With the final stretch as partner Andrew Novak, who briefly moved ahead after three consecutive birdies from the third, finished two moves in third place.

Korea Sungjae finished them fourth behind Norway's Chris Ventura and Hayden Springer claimed sixth, while England's Danny Willett posted his best PGA Tour finish since 2022 after finishing ninth.
Hideki Matsuyama finished the week tied-32nd and on one, with the world, and do not return to San Diego next month to defend his genesis invitation to the same place – moved from the Riviera to Torrey Pines due to the Los Angeles fire.

Halfway leader Ludvig Åberg struggled over the final two rounds, finishing 11 shots out of three after failing to find a birdie in his final-round 79.
