Aston Villa and West Ham United drew in a thrilling 1-1 draw at Villa Park, with both teams rueing missed opportunities.
Jacob Ramsey's early goal set the tone for an exciting game, but Emerson's second-half header salvaged a point for the visitors.
Villa got off to a strong start and found the breakthrough in just the eighth minute. Jacob Ramsey raced into the penalty area after a clever exchange with Ollie Watkins, and scored with his left foot past Alphonse Areola.
The hosts almost doubled their advantage moments later, but Watkins' header from a Youri Tielemans free kick narrowly missed the target.
Villa continued to apply pressure, with Leon Bailey and Boubacar Kamara both testing Areola.
West Ham struggled to find their rhythm in the first 45 minutes, but had a few moments of their own. Edson Alvarez and Mohamed Kuddus were lively, with the latter making a crucial challenge from Tyrone Mings.

The Hammers' best chance came when Lucas Paqueta shot the ball wide of the goal after a steady attack. But Mings' injury towards the end of the half cast a shadow over Villa's strong performance.
After trailing 1-0 at half-time, the visitors came out with renewed intent. Villa's defensive resilience was tested, with Aaron Wan-Bissaka's mob runs causing problems down the side.
Kudos and Alvarez had efforts blocked, while Paqueta's mistimed kick highlighted the Hammers' growing desperation.
In the 70th minute, West Ham equalized. A quick move involving Wan-Bissaka, Kudus and Alvarez led to the latter sending in a brilliant cross. Emerson arrived unmarked at the far post to slot the ball past Emiliano Martinez into the far corner, sparking wild celebrations among the away fans.
The last twenty minutes witnessed fierce competition as both teams sought to achieve victory. Villa's substitute, John Doran, had a golden opportunity, but he blocked his shot wide of the goal after grabbing a loose ball.
Moments later, former Villa striker Danny Ings almost turned the game in West Ham's favor with a low shot that went just wide of the post.
Villa players Emiliano Buendia and Tielemans also came close to scoring, as the latter shot a ball over the crossbar. Paqueta, who is struggling with injury, remained a threat for West Ham, creating a chance for Tomas Soucek, who had a traumatic header pass.
Seven minutes of stoppage time added to the drama. Villa's Buendia sent a half-volley into the Holt End, while Paqueta's valiant efforts to chase down the winner were in vain.
