Ravi Shastri is India's most underrated ICC all-rounder
Former Indian teacher Ravi Shastri revealed his picks for India's youngest player at the ICC meetings: Shikhar Dhawan. Speaking to Sanjana Ganesan in a video shared by ICC, Shastri highlighted Dhawan's contribution to India's success in international tournaments, especially the Champions Trophy.
“I thought Shikhar Dhawan has been hitting the Champions Trophy over the years, every time he played, he was great. It was representative for me how he played his game on big occasions,” said Shastri.
Acknowledging what often befalls India's top bowlers, Shastri asserted that Dhawan flew under the radar despite being a prolific performer.
“There is always talk about the big players in the Indian team, the superstars and they fly under the radar. You know, in big situations he was a dangerous player. So, you know and remember many of his runs in the Champions Trophy. He was one of the stars of the Champions Trophy, World Cup, ICC Tours in fact,” added Shastri.
