Barcelona manager Hansi Flick has accepted Ansu Fati's desire to stay at the club this month, but refused to guarantee more playing time for the 22-year-old.
Fati has seen just 186 minutes of action this season in eight appearances and has recently struggled to even command a place in Flick's Matchday squad. Considering his reported wages of £200,000-a-week, Barcelona are keen for something to change.
There have been significant transfer links. Both of them Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur have been announced to bring Fati to the Premier League, while like State Jose Mourinho wants to sign the winger at Fenerbahce, but Fati does not want to leave Barcelona.
“I don't have any new information about ANSU Fati,” Flick said after Sunday's 7-1 win over Valencia, in which Fati failed to make him off the bench. “He wants to stay, that's good. But the others deserved to play today. Now he is much better in training. He has improved and we will help him.”
Barcelona Will want to raid reinforcements this month and set their sights on Manchester United's Marcus Rashford, who is available on loan and is believed to be keen on a move to Catalonia.
However, before they can make a bid, Barcelona must free up some funds. Charging Fate's significant wages would clearly go a long way toward helping that cause, but punch State club officials are resigned to keeping the 22-year-old for the remainder of the season.
However, there are other players attracting interest heading into the final week of the transfer window, with Saudi officials eyeing no less than three La Masia talents.
