International England Georgia Stanway is set to avoid “several months” after undergoing a knee surgery.
The midfielder Bayern Munich confirmed the news in a statement on Thursday, revealing that she tore the lateral ligament on her right knee during a training session this week.
Stanway has a long way to recover before stirring its fresh concerns from England Fans for her gym going to Euro 2025, taking place between July 2-27.
The 26-year-old was useful in the country's successes in Euro 2022 and World Cup 2023, starting every match under coach Sarina Wiegman.
Stanway joins a small part of the other leading players of England already unavailable, including before Lauren HEMP and defender Alex Greenwood.
Lionesses have returned to action next month as they go to Portugal for their first game of UEFA League nations before waiting for Spain in Wembley Stadium.
