Explaining the whole incident to viewers, Reifer said: “Erasmus has not been named in the playing XI and the way he is playing shows that only the head coach can inform the umpires of the fourth player immediately when the wicket falls or the batsmen have given up.

“As we saw there, our fourth referee was not informed about the Super Sub. Therefore, Gerhard Erasmus did not have the right to go to the center because the procedure was not followed properly.”

Desert Vipers won by 6 wickets

Desert Vipers registered their second consecutive win this season, defeating Gulf Giants by six wickets. A solid unbeaten 42 from the all-rounder Sam Curranalong with Sherfane Rutherfords explosive 40 off just 18 balls, led the Vipers in a successful chase, achieving the target of 120 in 17.4 overs.

Earlier, the Giants struggled against Vipers' good batting when asked to bat first.
