As the cricket world prepares ICC Champions Trophy 2025concerns surrounding the Indian pacer Jasprit Bumrah has taken a turn for the worse following reports that he has been advised to rest in bed due to ongoing back problems. The news has sparked discussions about his presence in the tournament, which will begin on February 19.
Jasprit Bumrah's injury
Bumrah's injuries have been a matter of concern ever since his recent run of form Border-Gavaskar Trophy against Australia. Despite bowling well and taking 32 wickets in the series, his career seemed to take a toll on his health. According to several reports, Bumrah developed swelling in his lower back, which led to him being advised by medical experts to take complete rest until the swelling subsides.
“Bumrah may attend the CoE next week but no date has been set yet. He has been advised to rest at home to help the muscles recover and the swelling to subside. Once that happens, the future will be decided,” said a BCCI source, according to TOI.
This statement confirmed the seriousness of Bumrah's situation and the cautious approach taken by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI).
