CFB World reacts to Nick Singleton's public announcement


After a brilliant season with 2024 Penn StateNick Singleton will take another walk at University Park. The running back announced Monday that he will return for his senior season with the Nittany Lions. Singleton rushed for 1,099 yards and 12 touchdowns in 2024.

“After discussing my football future with my family, I have decided to return to Penn State for the 2025 season,” Singleton said in a statement on social media Monday.

“We still have goals to achieve as a team, and I want to be there for my teammates as we reach those goals. I plan to graduate this fall and earn a degree from Penn State University, which has always been a goal of mine.”

Nick Singleton is enjoying playing at Penn State

In his own words, Nick Singleton shared his pride in wearing the blue and white. Emotion may have played a role in his decision to return for another season despite his strong draft potential.

“It has been a true honor to wear the blue and white for the past three seasons,” Singleton wrote. “When I step into Beaver Stadium, I know how special this place is. Playing in front of the biggest fans in college football is something I never took for granted.

“I've been very fortunate to play for Coach (James) Franklin, Coach (Ja'Juan) Seider and the rest of this incredible coaching staff. The guys in that back room, along with the rest of my teammates, are men I will always look up to. “It was a privilege to play with those guys and they mean the world to me, the family atmosphere in the Lasch building is real.”

Nick has been an important player for Singleton Penn State since his arrival. He made an immediate impact as a freshman in 2022 with 1,061 rushing yards and 12 touchdowns. In his sophomore season in 2023, he had 752 rushing yards and eight touchdowns.

After another strong performance in his junior season, Singleton's decision to return gives Penn State an important offensive asset for the upcoming season. His presence will surely strengthen the team's base game and overall offensive dynamic.
