Manchester City have received the first bid from AC Milan for veteran defender Kyle Walker, according to reports in France.
The 34-year-old is expected to leave the reigning Premier League champions before January tRANSFER The window closes after informing Pep Guardiola that he wants to seek a new challenge abroad.
AC Milan quickly emerged as the frontrunners to sign Walker after Guardiola publicized his desire to leave, although reports to the contrary in the days that followed suggested the neighborhood rivals Inter were close to hijacking the deal.
But those rumors have quickly died down, leaving AC Milan in pole position to end Walker's eight-year tenure at the Etihad Stadium – one that has delivered 17 trophies across domestic and European competition.
French edition Team declare that Milan has made the first offer with City for Walker, with unclear details, while Fabrizio Romano reports that the player himself has already given the green light to join.
Further talks are expected to take place over the next 24 to 48 hours, with Walker guaranteed to be on the sidelines when town travel to Ipswich Town in the Premier League on Sunday.
As for a replacement for Walker, City appear to have a strong interest in Juventus' Andrea Cambiaso, although the 24-year-old will not be available for free. The Serie A giants can expect this receive more than 60 million euros for a player they signed from Genoa in 2022.
City are also close to completing a deal for the centre-back duo Abdukodir Khusanov AND Victor Reisrespectively from Lens and Palmeiras, while an agreement has been reached with Eintracht Frankfurt for the signing of the Egyptian striker Omar Marmoush.
