Antony has stated that he is “very happy” to be doing this loan the transfer from Manchester United to Real Betis.
The £84million signing is on the brink of a six-month move to Spain as he looks to reignite a career which has stalled terribly since he followed Erik ten Hag from Ajax to United in the summer of 2022.
Now in Seville to undergo a medical and finalize his move, Antony told local media: “I'm very happy, I'm ready.”
Betis did not pay a loan fee to sign Antony but, as revealed by Athleticswill cover at least 84% of his wages and have agreed to pay the Brazilian a number of performance-related bonuses. It will save united around £1.5m by the end of the season.
There is no possibility that Betis will make this move permanent, with Antoni is expected to return to Old Trafford this summer for further talks over his future.
Antony leaves United having made 96 appearances over the past two-and-a-half years, contributing just 12 goals and a further five assists in that time. He remains under contract with the Red Devils until 2027, with the club also having the option of a 12-month extension.
