The International Cricket Council (ICC) appointed Richard Illingworth as a referee of 2024. Richard Illingworth officiated as a field referee during the final match of the ICC T20 World Cup between India and South Africa, which took place at Kensington Oval, Bridgetown in Barbados on June 29.
Ilingworth started his career full of appearance in 2005, starting with the female cricket before moving to the male cricket in 2010. He was part of the ICC Elite Panel of Flameres and officiated in ICC events as The ODI World Cup, Champions Trophy, T20 World World World, T20 World World, T20 World Worl Cup and the World Test Championship final.

The International Cricket Council has led to its X account (previously known as Twitter) to announce Richard Illingworth as an ICC referee of the year for the third time. The 61 -year -old was also a former cricket that played for England in the 1992 World Cup.

Ilingworth was called ICC Fill of the Year in 2019 and 2023. He officiated in many high profile matches, including the semi -final between India and New Zealand in the 2019 World Cup and the 2023 World Cup final between India and Australia. He also won the David Shepherd trophy in 2019.

Richard Illingworth played nine tests and 25 Odi for England as a left arm spinner. He also had a strong fight record in the internal cricket. Throughout his career, he played 376 first-class matches, taking 831 wickedness at a decent average of 31.54 and marking 7027 running in 435 half.
The spinner with the left arm raised 19 wicked in tests and 30 wicked in Odi. He last played for England in an Odi match with Sri Lanka in 1996. Ilingworth played four matches in the 1996 World Cup, but never played international cricket.

Richard Illingworth is one of only two dumbbells, along with Kumar Dharmasena, has participated in a World Cup final as a player and as a referee. In the 1992 World Cup, Ilingworth was part of the England team that reached the final against Pakistan. He officiated in the final of the ICC Cricket Cricket 2023 World Cup.
Apart from his lively career, Ilingworth has had a successful cricketing career. With an impressive first -class cricket career, he stands out as one of the few posts who played international cricket. He officiated in 202 international matches, including 74 test matches, 93 ODI and 35 T20I matches.
