Serie A side Como have opened talks with Real Madrid to buy them all transfer The clauses related to 20-year-old midfielder Nico Paz, a report has claimed.
Paz, a product of Madrid's academy, made a €6m (£5.1m) move to Como in the summer and has established himself as one of the best youngsters in Serie A, racking up five goals and four assists in a run of form form which earned him a girls call-up to Argentina's national team last October.
Madrid Retain a buyout clause to re-sign Paz, while they also have the option to match any bid received for the 20-year-old and are entitled to a percentage of any future transfers, but Gianluca di Marzio Como States is looking to change that.
Como, backed by the richest owners in Italy, are looking to do a deal with Madrid to waive all of their PAZ-related clauses. They are said to be prepared to pay up to €20m (£16.9m) to remove Madrid's grip on Paz's future.
Convincing Madrid to accept their offer may be difficult, however, as manager Carlo Ancelotti already has spoke openly about his interest in Paz. He described the midfielder as “the future of Real Madrid” and even referred to his move to Como as “a year of training away from the club”.
CESC Fabregas, Como's manager, has acknowledged the existence of Madrid's buyout clause, but recently suggested the Italian outfit have far more control over the situation than they might suggest.
“There is a specific buyout clause for Nico Paz for Real Madrid, but he is a Como player,” Fabregas said. “If Como doesn't plan to sell Nico, it won't happen. We have an agreement with Nico. It's impossible for us to think about selling Nico Paz.”
