The father of Rosenborg's extraordinary midfielder Sverre Nypan has confirmed that his son will stay on Norway's highest flight despite widely transfer Interest from Arsenal.
Gunners were credited with the monitoring of the 18-year-old record earlier this month. Manchester City were also searched To follow Nypan, though it later turned out that the Side League sister club in Spain, Girona, are leading the negotiations.
Aston Villa continued an annoying transfer window by inserting their hat into a human -filled ring for the versatile midfielder, but now Nypan has decided to remain with rosenborg. The youngest player ever presented to Norwegian Giants has been on the European Elite radar since he made his flight debut at 15 – just 204 days less than Martin Odegaard's national record. Nypan is more capable of playing deeper roles than his compatriot and has been camped in a variety of midfield positions in his 60 high appearances for Rosenborg.
After promoting advances from the likes of Manchester United, Chelsea And Paris Saint-Germain at the beginning of his professional career, Nypan was thought to be open to Norway's action in January, with Rosenborg demanding no more than 11 million.
Now the young man is set to remain in the elites up to the summer – which marks the end of the 2024/25 campaign through the main leagues of Europe, but is only the point of half of Norway's flight.
However, negotiations can still continue, as Nypan's father added: “We should not exclude that we will finally choose a club before the summer window officially opens.”
