Announced England squad for CT and India ODI, Ben Stokes has been ruled out

The England National Cricket Team has announced the squad for the upcoming tournament in India as well as the ICC Champions Trophy 2025. The Three Lions will play three ODIs and five T20Is in India and then travel to Pakistan for the tournament.

Jos Buttler will lead the team in India ODIs, T20Is as well as ICC Champions Trophy 2025. Premier batsman Joe Root is back in the team after a while and will play in ODIs against Men in Blue and ICC Champions Trophy 2025. He is not part of T20Is.

Notable omissions from the squad were Sam Curran, Jonny Bairstow and premiership all-rounder Ben Stokes. While Bairstow and Curran were ruled out of the ODIs, Ben Stokes was unavailable for selection due to his injury.

The all-rounder recently suffered a hamstring injury during the Test series against the New Zealand national cricket team and was ruled out of action for some time. The ECB issued an official statement to this effect, stating that it was not available for selection.
