Was Fury's exit the result of Dubois' dishonest entry into the ring?

Commentator Steve Bunce believes Tyson Fury ran out of the ring immediately after the results were announced in his loss to unified heavyweight champion Oleksandr Usyk last Saturday night as Daniel Dubois entered the ring.

Shameful spectacle

Bunce believes that when Fury (34-2-1, 24 KOs) saw IBF heavyweight champion Dubois enter the ring to call out Usyk (23-0, 14 KOs), he didn't want to stand and watch. That would put Fury in an awkward position and make him look bad.

It is unclear who made the decision to allow Dubois to enter the ring. Whoever it was, they clearly didn't think about what the proud former WBC champion Fury would look like.

The high-ranking person who made the call to let Dubois into the ring may have overlooked how to put it Napoleonic fury in a humiliating position, ignored like driftwood. With that move, the emperor was reduced to a minor figure.

This should not have happened because there were other ways to set up the Usyk vs. Dubois fight without Daniel entering the ring to call him out while Fury was still present.

Everything looked like a shameful circus. Dubois didn't look comfortable calling out Usyk, and he was told to do so. He seemed to know that this was wrong and seemed timid.

Disrespectful move by Dubois

“Dubois was in the ring and was obviously trying to fight, but it was a little disrespectful. First of all to Tyson Fury. Second to Oleksandr Usyk, and third to Joseph Parker, whom he will fight in February,” Carl Frampton told TNT Sports Boxingtalking about the circus atmosphere immediately after Oleksandr Usyk's rematch against Tyson Fury, where Daniel Dubois was allowed to enter the ring.

“I didn't really like that. I understand why he does it, but it wasn't my cup of tea,” Frampton said.

“I'm sure that's why Fury left,” said commentator Steve Bunce, giving his opinion on why he believes Tyson Fury ran out of the ring immediately after the fight. “You are in the ring, your Tyson Fury. You have been king of the world for a long time. You're in the ring. The man who just beat you (Usyk) very narrowly on points is here.

»You stand in the ring. You're standing for nothing but an interview, and suddenly you see Dubois walk in, come in from the left side of the stage and walk right into the fray. If we can get another camera angle, I bet Tyson Fury leaves at some point during that first thing. He stands in the ring. That's the way it works,” Bunce said.

“I know it's 2-0 but it was so close and so controversial. A trilogy is on the table. I think they have a third fight,” Bunce said of wanting a trilogy between Fury and Usyk. “AJ still has a big fight ahead of him. Have a third fight (with Oleksandr). He won't be knocked out. The AJ fight is still here. “I think Fury is right when he says, 'The AJ fight will be there no matter when it happens,'” Bunce said.

The Fury-Usyk fights weren't controversial unless you're a Fury fan. People did not consider any of those matches to be controversial. The only thing that was questionable about the first was the referee giving Fury an eight eight in the ninth round when he was badly injured.

There is almost no chance that the trilogy between Usyk and Fury will happen next because it is too risky for Tyson. He and his promoters won't want to risk Usyk beating him a third time and ruining a lucrative matchup with Anthony Joshua. Also, Turki Alalshikh said after the fight that he wants the next fight between Joshua and Fury. He said nothing about setting up a trilogy.
