England's Test cricket captain, Ben Stokeshas been out of any form of cricket for at least three months after tearing his left hip, which has been confirmed by England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB). The injury occurred during the third test against New Zealand earlier this month, which England lost by 423 runs, despite winning 2-1.
Notably, the 33-year-old was forced off the field on Day 3 of the match after giving away a bowler who was pulled for four by. Rachin Ravindra. The incident was Stokes' second injury to his left thigh this year, having previously injured it during The Hundred in August. The ECB confirmed that Stokes would undergo surgery in January, ruling him out of England's white-ball tour of India and the Champions Trophy in early 2025.
