Left wrist spinner Kuldeep Yadav has resumed bowling after the surgery he underwent after India's first Test against New Zealand in Bengaluru. The first footage of Kuldeep bowling in the nets is out, which is great news for Indian fans.
Kuldeep's return is a big boost to India's chances ahead of the ICC Champions Trophy 2025. He is India's best spinner in the white-ball format and is also a first-choice player in the team's Playing XI.

Kuldeep Yadav started bowling in the nets after his surgery. The left-arm spinner went slow in the close but picked up pace as he bowled some more. He posted a story on his Instagram handle where he was seen bowling in the nets. It is likely that he is currently in Kanpur with his childhood coach Kapil Panday.
Kuldeep suffered a groin injury during India's home Test series against New Zealand and was ruled out of the last two Tests of the series. He was operated on in Germany and is believed to have gone well.
After his surgery, he underwent rehabilitation at BCCI's Center of Excellence in Bengaluru, where he focused more on leg exercises to build his strength. NCA officials have gone all out to prepare him for the upcoming Champions Trophy.
While he is yet to get a clean sheet from the National Cricket Academy, Kuldeep started bowling in the nets to get into a bowling rhythm. He will look to regain more strength in the coming days and start bowling at his best.
Kapil Panday talks about Kuldeep Yadav's comeback
A few days ago, Kuldeep Yadav's childhood coach Kapil Panday revealed the status of his injury and claimed that he may start bowling soon. Panday mentioned that Kuldeep will visit his hometown Kanpur and start bowling. Both will make further plans accordingly.
“He should start bowling this month. I'm pretty confident. He will be here (in Kanpur) till next week and then we will make further plans. It may be a bit early to predict Kuldeep's comeback as he will resume bowling first and then have to play a practice game or two while going through the other tests and trials,” said Kapil Panday.
Kuldeep Yadav last played an ODI during India's away series in Sri Lanka where he took 4 wickets in three matches at an average of 25.50 and an economy rate of 3.40. The left-arm wrist spinner is India's best player in ODI cricket, making him crucial for the Champions Trophy.

Kuldeep also played in the 2023 ODI World Cup and was India's first spinner at the tournament. He took 15 wickets in 11 matches at an average of 28.26 and played a key role in India's run to the final.
The 30-year-old has so far played 106 ODIs and taken 172 wickets at an average of 26. With the Champions Trophy 2025 less than two months away, Kuldeep will be eyeing a comeback in the series Previous ODI vs England.
