Former India cricketer Vinod Kambli has expressed his gratitude to his lifelong friend Sachin Tendulkar as he recovers from a recent health setback at Thane Hospital. Kambli was admitted to a private hospital in Thane, Aakriti Hospital, after he complained of a urinary infection and cramps.
Notably, Vinod Kambli was taken to a hospital in Thane's Kalher area by a fan who owns the facility. Now, Dr. Vivek Trivedi, who is treating Vinod Kambli, has revealed that after several medical tests, doctors at Aakriti Hospital have found clots in the former Indian cricketer's brain.

Speaking about his recovery, Vinod Kambli revealed that he is feeling better and remains deeply connected to his cricketing journey after singing Queen's iconic 1977 classic 'We Are the Champions'. The former left-handed batsman also recalled his achievements with the bat.
Vinod Kambli was quoted by ANI: “I feel better now… I will never leave this (cricket) because I remember the number of centuries and double centuries I hit… We are three left-handers in the family. “
Appreciating the support of his former teammate and old friend, Kambli thanked Sachin Tendulkar as he revealed the legendary cricketer's blessings and prayers during this difficult time. He added, “When I was not well, he (Sachin) said he had his blessings. I am grateful to him.”

Meanwhile, Vinod Kambli is currently recovering at Aakriti Hospital after doctors detected clots in his brain. He was hospitalized due to muscle cramps, dizziness and difficulty walking, and now Aakriti Hospital's chief intensivist, Dr. Vivek Dwivedi, gave a new update on the former bat.

Tests revealed a urinary tract infection, sodium and potassium deficiency, and old clots from a recent stroke. Dr. Dwivedi revealed that Kambli was treated in the ICU due to low blood pressure but is now stable. The doctor noticed degenerative changes in his brain and is focusing on rehabilitation and physiotherapy. Kambli is expected to be discharged in 2-3 days.

Dr. Vivek Dwivedi was quoted by ANI as saying, “I admitted him on Saturday night. He had muscle cramps and dizziness at home… He had a high fever when we brought him to the hospital and difficulty walking because of the muscle cramps. Upon investigation, we found that he had a urinary tract infection and sodium and potassium deficiency, which were causing muscle cramps.
A brain scan revealed that he had old clots as he had recently suffered a stroke. I admitted him to Intensive Care because he also had low blood pressure… The vital elements are stable, but the treatment and physical therapy are ongoing. We plan to discharge him in 2-3 days. His brain condition is not stable… There are degenerative changes in his brain. So we're focusing more on rehabilitation.”

Notably, Kambli, who represented India in 17 Tests and 104 ODIs from 1993 to 2000, recently attended the inauguration of a memorial to his legendary coach Ramakant Achrekar at Shivaji Park.
