Ravichandran Ashwin cheekily seeks CSK’s approval over a fan’s query on MS Dhoni for IPL 2025


Ravichandran Ashwin has been spending a lot of time on social media now that he has retired from international cricket. The off-spin wizard recently heeded a request from a CSK fan and eagerly asked for his IPL license if it is possible to do so in the upcoming IPL season.

Everyone wants to see MS Dhoni's bat

At the heart of this special request from a CSK fan was MS Dhoni. Notably, the former Indian captain still has his IPL chances even after retiring from all forms of international cricket. CSK fans and Dhoni fans wait all year to see him bat and keep wickets. However, Dhoni humbled himself to drop down the batting line-up in the previous IPL season.

Wanting to see Dhoni bat more often, a CSK fan asked Ashwin if it was possible if Dhoni played the best for CSK in IPL 2025. Ashwin, without wasting time, signed his right-hander. An Instagram story asking about Dhoni's ability to play in CSK's top order. “@chennaiipl ok ok?” Ashwin asked. It is now being said that Ashwin shares the fans' desire to see Dhoni bat against CSK more often.

Ashwin was very appreciative of Dhoni's leadership

Talking about Dhoni's personality as a captain, Ashwin recently praised Dhoni in the game. Sky Sports Cricket podcast.

“He does the most important things correctly, and many other managers miss the first things. It makes the game very difficult for them.” Ashwin said.

Speaking about his attitude as a captain, he added, “For example, he would not give the ball to the bowler, the first thing he would say is, 'take your field and bowl to the field'. He hates that when the batsman comes to bat, and you can bring it freely.”

Ashwin was part of the Indian team during the tournament 2011 World Cup and 2013 Champions Trophyboth titles were won by the Men-in-Blue led by Dhoni.
