Indian cricketer Cheteshwar Pujara was all praise for the veteran Ravindra Jadeja For his key knock on Day 4 (Tuesday, December 17) of the ongoing third Test of the 2024-25 Border-Gavaskar Trophy at the Gabba.

The 36-year-old batted at No.7 when India were in dire straits, losing half their side for just 74 runs. Jadeja looked solid and put up a vital partnership of 67 runs off 115 balls. Talkative Star SportsPujara said the partnership between KL Rahul and Jadeja was crucial and demonstrated why the veteran all-rounder was picked for the team. He said:

“The partnership between KL and Jadeja was the best partnership of this innings and things are looking better now. And KL has shown that if you apply yourself, if you bat well, it's a good pitch where you can score runs. It's a very difficult pitch where you can't survive or bat not”.

He added:

“So yeah, I mean it's a new ball and KL showed that today. And even Ravindra's important contribution because he was picked as a batter and showed why he was picked.”

At the time of writing, the visitors were 194-7 after 60 overs, with Jadeja still on 59 and Mohammad Siraj yet to score. India trailed by 251 runs, Australia scored 445 in their first innings, with centuries from Steven Smith (101) and Head of Travis (152).
