Michael Owen offers his thoughts on the Lionel Messi vs Cristiano Ronaldo debate

Liverpool the legendary Michael Owen offered his two cents on the never-ending GOAT debate between Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi.

Messi and Ronaldo have been the focus of the soccer world for the better part of the last two decades. The pair competed against each other, breaking records and reaching new heights.

They are the top two goalscorers of all time, with Ronaldo 916 and Messi 850, and have 13 Ballon d'Or awards between them.

During an interview with TNT Sports Mexico, Owen reflected on the debate, saying (via Bola Vip):

“I naturally think that Messi is the best player I have ever seen. He was just born to be great. Meanwhile, I love that Ronaldo is working hard to be as good as he is, showing similar qualities and earning a rightful place in this conversation. Messi doesn't even look like he's trying and it's so natural – it's incredible.”
