Kovalev on Fury vs. Joshua: “Joshua has a fragile head”

'The Krusher' Sergey Kovalev is tipping Tyson Fury to defeat Anthony Joshua in the 'Battle of Britain' when the two former world heavyweight champions meet in 2025.

A “fragile” chin

Kovalev says Joshua is “fragile” in the chin area and that's why he thinks Fury can win. Sergey isn't saying that Fury's strength isn't up to par with the fighters AJ has struggled with throughout his career.

Power punchers hurting Joshua

– Vladimir Klitschko
– Andy Ruiz Jr.
– Daniel Dubois
– Alexander Povetkin
– Dillian Whyte

Only two of those fighters have defeated Joshua, which shows that he is resilient and finds a way to bounce back when injured during his fights. Fury is nowhere near any of those fighters in terms of power, and his method of achieving knockouts involves bullying his opponent. Joshua is too powerful to be worn down by Fury's hold and lean tactics.

It is unclear whether Fury (34-2-1, 24 KOs) will agree to fight Joshua (28-4, 25 KOs) after suffering his second loss against unified heavyweight champion Oleksandr Usyk last Saturday night in Riyadh.

Fury, 36, sounded like an embittered politician after the fight, angry with the referees and in complete and utter denial of what happened. His love of money will probably bring him back.

There's too much green stuff for Gyspy King not to return for two lucrative fights against the faded Joshua, who was blown out of the water by Daniel Dubois on September 21st. If Fury wasn't in the money, he'd probably retire and never be seen again, but he won't be able to resist coming back for 100 million dollars payment day against AJ. Both fighters are expected to earn more than $100 million for their 'Battle of Britain' bout.

“Joshua doesn't take head shots, you know? Joshua has a fragile head. A little more, and he's already dancing,” said Sergej Kovalev Secondsoutsaying that Anthony Joshua's shot resistance is weak. “I don't know who will win, but I think Tyson Fury will win (against) Joshua.”
