When Marcus Rashford and Alejandro Garnacha were left out of Manchester United's derby against Man City, it's fair to say that the whole of football was shocked.
Reuben Amorimas usual, put up the clearest marker yet that he is not a manager to be messed with and any United star unwilling to bend to his will has no future at the club, whatever the name.

CaughtOffside sources now understand that the Argentine has since attracted interest from an as-yet-unnamed European club to sign him on loan from the Red Devils with a £60m buyout option.
Atletico Madrid, Manchester City, Bayern Munich, Chelsea, FC Barcelona, Real Madrid, Juventus and Al Hilal are all rumored to be interested, with one of them seeing Garnacho as their top transfer target to strengthen their squad due to his age and overall performance levels.
Garnacho, who recently won the 2024 FIFA Puskas Award for his goal against Everton, Amorim seems unimpressed with his efforts on the training ground, leading to the brief, sharp shock of staying at home as United showed against Manchester City what he can do without him and Rashford.
Man United can manage without Alejandro Harnach
Harnach's contract at Manchester United has been extended until 2028, but unless Amorim is convinced in the coming weeks, the player who scored eight goals and provided four more assists in the 24/25 campaign (transfer market) may prove to be persona non grata at Old Trafford.
United fans, who may see this as a new broom sweeping in and perhaps not the way Amorim should be doing, need only remind themselves how well Portuguese side Sporting have done under his tutelage over the last couple of years.
The manager is clearly not one to turn around, so United fans will have to get used to trusting his process.
