West Indies fast bowler Oshane Thomas had a day to forget in Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) 2024-25 as he conceded 15 runs in a single delivery while playing for Khulna Tigers. It happened during the third match of the tournament between Khulna Tigers and Chittagong Kings on 31 December 2024.
Thomas was given the responsibility of bowling his side's first over of the innings but looked like he was struggling to control the seam and swing of the new ball. The first ball was a short ball outside off stump which batsman Naeem Islam slammed into mid on for a simple catch.
However, the umpire ruled it was not a ball as Thomas had overstepped. The next ball, which was a free kick, was a bit fuller but Naeem missed an attempted shot over the line. The second ball was a good length ball on the stumps which the batter connected well to send over backward square leg for a six.
But things got worse when this turned out to be another problem. Oshane Thomas clearly struggled with his line and length and went on to bowl two big wides outside the off stump. The next ball was a juicy toss which Naeem edged across the line to find a four through the leg side. This also turned out to be a big no-ball.

Oshane Thomas was in disbelief of what was happening and had his hands over his face. The last no-ball was the biggest no-ball of all. As a result, he conceded 15 runs while bowling just one legal delivery.
Oshane Thomas is coming back strong
Under pressure at that point, Thomas came back strongly to concede just three runs in the next five balls. West Indies also quickly took the big wicket of Naeem Islam in the penultimate ball of the over.
Oshane Thomas could have conceded 18 runs in the over, but it looked like a better over after the way it started. But the dreadful start was enough to convince Khulna Tigers captain Mehidy Hasan Miraz not to bring Thomas back for another.
Khulna Tigers register an easy win
While it was a bad thing for Khulna Tigers, it resulted in a great start for Chittagong Kings as they had the momentum with them. But they could not capitalize and lost wickets at regular intervals.
At 75-8, it looked like their innings would end quickly. But middle-order batsman Shamim Hossain had other ideas as he played a blinder after coming in to bat at No. 6. Hossin smashed 78 off just 38 balls and hit 7 fours and 5 sixes during his over. But the Kings were bowled out for just 166 with seven balls to spare.
Earlier, Khulna Tigers had scored 203-4 on the back of brilliant knocks by William Bosisto and Mahidul Islam Ankon. Bosisto smashed 75 off 50 balls while Ankon smashed 59 off just 22 deliveries with 1 four and 6 sixes.
