Arsenal are reportedly considering a potential move for Atalanta goalkeeper Marco Carnesecca, with Neto likely to leave the club next summer.
The Gunners currently identify David Rye as their first choice in goal, but Mikel Arteta could probably do with some of them experienced cover behind him following the departure of Aaron Ramsdale to Southampton this season.
According to the Italian publication Tuttosport, quoted and translated TEAMtalkArsenal are interested in Carnesecca for this back-up goalkeeper role, with Neto likely to be on his way from the Emirates Stadium.
Arsenal are about to launch another raid on rivals Chelsea!
The Brazilian striker is currently on loan at Arsenal from Bournemouth, but has looked more like a short-term emergency signing.
With a younger goaltender like Carnesecchi, who is only 24 years old, it looks like it would be smart for the AFC to give them someone who can potentially compete with Raya for a starting spot in the long term.
Arsenal have been making frequent goalkeeper changes under Mikel Arteta
Arsenal have made so many goalkeeper changes during Arteta's time in north London, with Bernd Leno starting at number one when the Spanish tactician first joined.
Emiliano Martinez then performed well for the team while Leno was injured, playing a key role in Arteta's side's 2020 FA Cup final victory, although he has since moved to Aston Villa to play more regularly.
However, Leno did not regain his spot as Ramsdale was signed in his place and quickly established himself as the number one.
Ramsdale then enjoyed an excellent 2022/23 season but was unexpectedly dropped to the bench when Raya joined for the 2023/24 campaign.
In that time, other keepers such as Matt Turner have joined and then left, while Neto replaced Ramsdale this summer, but he looks set to stay at the Emirates for a short while.
