Manchester United's legendary player Jaap Stam criticized Marcus Rashford for his recent statements. He believes the winger has taken the easy way out by trying to leave the club amid criticism.
Rashford has been heavily criticized by fans and pundits for his poor performances since the start of last season. He has also been heavily linked with a move away since last summer. He recently suggested he is ready for a new challenge away from his boyhood club.
In a recent interview, Jaap Stam shared his thoughts on Rashford's situation Manchester Unitedsaying (via Purpose):
“I think it's an easy way out to say you want to leave because it was a difficult period and he faced a lot of criticism for his performances, but we didn't see enough fight on the pitch.
“I think if he had shown that, there would have been a different sentiment towards him and he would have been given more credit. Maybe it would be good for him and the club if he moves on, but I'd like to see him give his all for the club.
After graduating from the academy, 27-year-old Rashford scored 138 goals and 63 assists in 426 games for Manchester United.

In a recent interview with a journalist Henry Winter, Marcus Rashford He talked about many things, including his future at Old Trafford. When asked if he could leave the club soon, the Englishman replied:
“For me personally, I think I am ready for a new challenge and next steps. 'There will be no hard feelings' when I leave. You won't ask me anything negative about Manchester United. I am like a person.”
“If I know it's already bad, I'm not going to make it worse. I've seen other players go in the past and I don't want to be that person. When I go, I'm going to make a statement and it's going to be from me.”
Rashford has scored seven goals and provided three assists in 24 competitive appearances. However, new head coach Ruben Amorim has opted not to include the England international in his match-day squad for the last three games.
He last played in United's 2-1 win over Viktoria Plzen. UEFA Europa League on 12 December but failed to register a goal contribution.
