Rishabh Pant he is one of the best performers in the Indian team. The wicket-keeper batsman suffered enough physical pain and was able to return and play for the country despite all the odds. Something similar happened on the first day of the final exam of the event Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25. Pant was not well received by the Australian players when he came to the crease to bat.

The wicket-keeper batsman arrived at the crease after lunch as Shubman Gill dispersed by Nathan Lyon on the last ball of the opening session. Pant tried to spend time at the crease and gain strength after lunch. But the Australian pace attack, and Mitchell Starc in fact, he had other plans for Pant. A short ball bowled outside off from Starc hit Pant straight on the arm and left a red mark on his left bicep. Medical help had to rush to the ground to apply an ice-pack to the target area and a bandage so that Pant could continue to bat.
Another short ball from Starc was aimed at Pant's helmet as the 27-year-old had to take off his helmet to minimize damage and see what damage could be done to his target. Others in the Aussie pace-attack were not kind either. Regular shipping from Scott Boland aimed at Pant's pad took another hit and hit Pant's groin area instead. Pant felt sore afterwards but continued to bat.

Indian innings lacks unity
Sydney's highways have done a remarkable job on the first day of the New Year's Test with patches of green and greenery especially to help commuters. This has resulted in the Indian openers and top order being overwhelmed by the Australian attack and bowlers. India now need a steady partnership to keep their innings going. Pant's resistance, however, did not last long as he was dismissed after scoring 40 runs off 98 balls.
